Christian Life Retreat 2019 in Ocean City, MD Perseverance: a Nehemiah Battle Plan
It was wonderful to be with our LWML sisters to catch up, meet new friends and share the love and support we have with each other along with our friend Jesus.
Wendysue Fluegge began our Retreat with Healing Harmonies-- a meditative worship time of song and prayer based on the A.C.T.S. formula: Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving & Supplication. She led us through a weekend of praying and singing praises to our Savior, King of Creation. A fun time was had by all participating in the entertainment provided by Wendysue Saturday evening as well.
Donna Pyle led a wonderful, uplifting Bible study on the book of Nehemiah! She spoke about how God shows us through the life of Nehemiah how prayer is the backbone of everything that He calls us to tackle. She challenged us to choose one thing to hand over to Him to deal with once and for all, and surrender our life to His calling. Nehemiah was a man of prayer. We need to be a woman of prayer. We need to acknowledge God’s sovereignty. He is God! We are not! Take your struggles to the Lord in prayer. Our God will fight for us! (Neh. 4:20) We need to persevere! Thank you to all who participated in the Silent Auction and the Pledge Walk for Mites. Our Ingathering tables were full of gifts from the heart for St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Believe in Tomorrow and Seminarian gift cards. “Rejoice with great joy.” Neh. 12:43
Thank you so much to Christine Maconachy for all she did to plan, organize and carry out a fabulous Christian Women’s Retreat!
